Preparing for University

If you are thinking about going to university and dreading the thought of writing a personal statement and having to go to interviews, then this day is for you!

Guest speakers from the University of Canterbury and Imperial College London will talk and guide you in the art of CV and personal statement writing and interviews skills. (They will also touch on Apprenticeship and Job applications, so this day is literally for everyone)

Both our speakers are looking forward to telling you all they can about the university application process ‘and’ will answer any questions you have!

We are also planning on having an organisation called CAP (Christians Against Poverty) come and talk about practical ways to budget and save money (which will help you not only at university but throughout the rest of your life!)

It is £5.00 for the day (which will cover your lunch and refreshments throughout the day).

Friendships and Relationship Day!

Relationships (be them romantic, platonic, professional or any other) are amazing, wonderful and beautiful things!

It is can be energising, refreshing and healing to be around those we love, respect and appreciate (and who return all those feelings to us).

But what happens when friendships can become strained? When we worry about our romantic relationship (or lack of it)? When our parents seem too clingy or protective? When we struggle to keep friends?  And what’s wrong with being single?

The ‘Friendships and Relationships’ day aims to address all the above questions and more as we explore how we can create and maintain friendships/relationships within our lives. We will also focus on what God says about relationships/friendships and what it means to ‘love’!

Discussions and sessions will cover:

  • Friends (how to get/keep them)
  • Romantic relationships (boyfriend/girlfriend)
  • Parents
  • Singleness (because it also needs some love and attention!)

The event is FREE to attend, however we ask for £5 which will go towards lunch and refreshments which will be available throughout the day.

‘Grow in Your Self-Esteem’

10am-4pm

At Generation Hope we believe in young people being built up so that they are confident and sure of who they are (as individuals and through God). It makes complete sense that people who have higher self-esteem and confidence are more motivated and often happier in life.

Time and time again we also hear stories of young people being told that they are not valuable. Whether these words come from friends, teachers, parents, each other or the media they can have a negative effect on our mental state.

‘Grow in Your Self-Esteem’ is all about sharing and teaching you practical ways to build up your confidence and ways to recognise your worth and value as a unique person!

The day will be hosted by Generation Hope members and sessions will be taught by a combination of Generation Hope members and guest speakers.

The event is FREE, but we ask for £5.00 which will go towards lunch and refreshments which will be available throughout the day.

To book your place, then keep your eyes open on this page for an Eventbrite link where you can get your ticket.
